Written by Mohan Raju along with Lakshmi Bhupala and Murali Gopi, The Godfather is shaped by southern cinema’s biggest megastar Chiranjeevi, who defined the industry in its heyday. The screenplay begins with him clarifying that she is someone the FBI can’t even think of messing with. So when he enters the frame with his crisp iron white kurta, some expensive sunglasses and the dazzle of millions, you know this is the guy who’s going to win, and if you know the track record, He definitely will be.

The challenge now for the makers is to create a story that not only supports the victory of their already respected hero but also entertains the ticket buyers. In The Godfather, the creators try to incorporate the politics of the land, people double-cross each other, and what’s more, makes it all so complicated that the god they created has to solve it. You have to stand on your toes. But it all looks like a blueprint we’ve seen before, even with the biggest names.

And all the other actors also have an idea to underplay themselves.
